The ex soap star welcomed her first child in the recent weeks after a surprise pregnancy announcement earlier this year.

After a long friendship going back 10 years, the couple have been quietly dating since last summer after Hannah had a high-profile split in January 2010 from long-term partner, former Eastenders co-star Ricky Groves.

Actor Huw, who played lovable but dimwitted police officer George Garfield on the Bill, also had a huge break-up, splitting from wife Geraldine prior to moving in with 36-year-old Hannah.

The couple’s quick announcement that they were expecting a child together came as a surprise to their fans.

Hannah told Closer magazine: “We spoke early on in our relationship about the fact we’d like a family. I’m 35 and I didn’t want to wait around because, as everyone knows, it can be harder to conceive as you get older. But we didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.”

The starlet also revealed that the pregnancy may have saved her life, as it led her to discovering she has diabetes.

Hannah said: “I was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which was triggered by pregnancy hormones. It’s very unusual and can be very dangerous, which means this baby will probably be the only child I can have.

“Although the pregnancy triggered my diabetes symptoms, I would have developed them at some point, so at least it meant I was diagnosed earlier – it probably saved my life.”

Here at MFM HQ we wonder whether the baby will grow up to be an East End cheeky chappy or an officer of the law?
