Glamourous mum-to-be, Coleen Rooney, who is due to give birth within the next couple of weeks, last week launched her children's collection for Littlewoods with a celebrity-filled children's party, in her home town of Liverpool.

Coleen looked radiant at the launch in a £49 dress, from the Fearne Cotton collection at Littlewoods, a striking necklace that she was given as a birthday present and, of course, a pair of skyscraper black patent Louboutin heels.

The collection for the high street store includes a range of children's clothing for baby, boy and girl and a product collection, including pushchairs, changing bags and cots, in pink and blue star print designs.

Five-months-pregnant, Danielle Lloyd/Mrs O'Hara, attended the party with her sons, Archie, 2, and Harry, 1, and was sadly suffering from a bad bout of hayfever. She told us that she was finding out whether she will be having a boy or girl the next day, also tweeting last Wednesday: @MissDLloyd "20 week scan today Girl or Boy???? What do u think X"

We also caught up with expectant parents and Coronation Street's golden couple, Lucy-Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall, who were excited about selecting some pieces from the collection for their own new arrival. Lucy-Jo is in her second trimester and is loving being pregnant. It certainly seems to suit the couple, who were both positively glowing.

Also joining in with the celebrations were celebrity pals, and fellow mums, Natasha Hamilton and Sheree Murphy, who brought their cuties along to join in the fun celebrations.

Can you tell us a little about your new children’s collection, Cool Candy, for Littlewoods?

I’ve been working with Littlewoods for three years now so I wanted to do things to naturally develop the brand and childrenswear and products seemed like a good match. Being pregnant and having a child I’m very into buying clothes for them, and I love designing clothes, so it was quite easy.

One of my main aims was to dress children like children, because there is so much older-style stuff on the market when I feel they have so much time to grow up and dress like that whereas they are only children for a shirt amount of time. I think it’s really nice when you see boys and girls dressed for their age and not older, so that is what I tried to do – keep it kiddy-like and cute!

Having two boys, did you approach designing the collection with the intention of creating a strong boys range?

Since having Kai, for the past three years, I’ve found that boyswear has been getting stronger and stronger. When I first had him, I did struggle because everything on offer seemed to be the same, but now there is a lot more choice out there and for my range I have tried to give a wide choice, in particular, for the boys, because it’s a bit boring when you keep seeing them in the same shapes, styles and colours. The girlswear range, I admit, was easier to design because there is generally more scope with colours and styles,

What kind of fashion styles, other than fancy dress, do you like to see Kai in?

He wears casual bits but I do like him to be smart, not like an old man, but he looks nice in a pair of skinny jeans and a blazer, so that outfit along with a striped star T-shirt, is something that Kai would wear if we were heading out to a party or something. But day-to-day, you have to be practical and he wears tracksuits or football kits, or his dressing up outfits!

Do you have any fashion or style advice for mums-to-be?

I think everyone’s personal style and shape is different, everyone carries their baby differently. People put different amounts of weight on, I have carried different with this baby to how I carried Kai. I changed the way I dressed, and obviously as time goes on different styles and fashions are in the shops. The high street changes all the time. With Kai I put on more weight and wore a lot of loose fitting clothing, but during this pregnancy, I have been wearing lots more fitted clothing, I think it’s because with this pregnancy my bump is much more up the front and I never felt that comfortable in the tighter outfits when I was carrying Kai.

I am still managing fine in my high heels – just for a couple of hours, then I throw my ballet pumps on!

Thanks, Coleen!
