He's known for his explosive nature in the kitchen, but now Gordon Ramsay has unleashed his wrath away from the stove, reigniting his long-running spat with fellow chef Jamie Oliver.

It seems that Gordon took exception to a comment Jamie made about the number of children they both had - and perhaps took it as a cruel jibe at his wife Tana's miscarriage last year.

Jamie reportedly said that "he's got 4 kids and I've got 5 kids and I don't want to be slagging off some kids' dad on telly" - which most people took to mean that as parents, they should not be having a silly feud, and especially not as they're both in the public eye.

However, judging from an interview with the Radio Times, it would appear that Gordon took the remark far more personally - and in a different context.

Saying that he had always taken their tempestuous professional relationship as a bit of 'fun', Gordon explained that the latest comment was unwelcome given the "s**t year" his family had endured.

More like this

"Jamie turned round and said, 'I've got 5 kids, he's got 4 kids.' To judge someone else's family on the amount of kids you have..." Gordon said, adding that he would not speak to Jamie again until he apologises to his wife.

"Boys will always fight and butt heads but Tana was mortified, I mean really mortified," he said.

Tana tragically lost their 5th child 5 months into her pregnancy in June 2016, and speaking to the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine 4 months after their loss, Gordon said the support they had received from friends had been overwhelming.

He even cited that "Jamie and Jools were among the first to reach out and send their sympathy."

And on that basis, it does all sound very much like Jamie's almost certainly innocent remark has hit a bit of a raw nerve with a still-grieving Gordon, doesn't it?

Understandable, but we do hope they can resolve this one soon ?
