Pregnant soap star Kym Marsh has spoken out about her joy of expecting a baby after her miscarriage last year – and reveals why she’s been confined to bed rest since December.

The 34-year-old, who is seven months pregnant, told OK! magazine that she suffers from an incompetent cervix and had an operation to put a stitch in her cervix to protect her unborn daughter.

Although Kym and fiancé Jamie Lomas are thrilled that they’re expecting another baby following Kym’s tragic miscarriage last year, they’ve also been worried sick too. “I couldn’t go through this again, it’s too heartbreaking,” Kym told the magazine. “This pregnancy has been really difficult, a nightmare in fact. We’ve been on eggshells.”

Kym, who is already mum to David, 15, and Emily, 13, from a previous relationship, had been given time off to rest from her role in Coronation Street and despite the worry, she’s looking forward to meeting her daughter.

“It’s been a rubbish time but it’s lovely when we see her on the scan and I feel her wriggling. She’s our little miracle, that’s for sure,” said mum-to-be Kym.
