Mad Men’s January Jones called “unapproachable” by her on-screen child

It seems heavily pregnant Mad Men and X-Men star January Jones might have to work on her child-friendliness before she becomes a mum for real. The on-screen mother, who plays ice-cool Betty Draper has been called “unapproachable” by the actor who plays her son, Jared Gilmore.
“Be careful around January,” said the 11-year-old, who is leaving the series. “She’s not as approachable as the others. She’s really serious about what she does. Everyone else is so nice,” he advised his future replacement.
But we reckon poor January’s just staying in character on set and the series director Matthew Weiner agrees, explaining that January has always wanted to be a mum.
January announced her surprise pregnancy in April but hasn’t let slip who the daddy is. She’s been enjoying her pregnancy, shopping for both pink and blue baby goodies to keep us guessing and celebrating with a fabulous beach-side baby shower complete with celeb guests.
