There's a lot of stuff to get ready when you're expecting your first baby, and Mark Zuckerburg has given himself a head start this week.

First, the Facebook boss bought (and assembled) his buggy. And it looks like the couple's dog Beast has sensed something is wrong. "Here's a photo of Beast with our baby seat. I think he knows something's up," Mark commented.

The billionaire has plumped for the UPPAbaby Cruz. The £449.95 buggy is an updated version of the bestselling buggy loved by celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Jessica Parker – and is great for city use.

In his Facebook post, the dad-to-be also revealed he plans to take 2 months of paternity leave when his daughter arrives.

"Priscilla and I are starting to get ready for our daughter's arrival," he wrote. "We've been picking out our favourite childhood books and toys.

"We've also been thinking about how we're going to take time off during the first months of her life. This is a very personal decision, and I've decided to take 2 months of paternity leave when our daughter arrives.

"Studies show that when working parents take time to be with their newborns, outcomes are better for the children and families."

Sharing a picture of himself with his wife Priscilla and his parents and sister, over Thanksgiving, Mark posted that he was "feeling thankful".

The sentiment comes as he reveals that all new dads working at Facebook will be allowed to take up to 4 months paid paternity leave.

The new policy will come into effect from the beginning of next year, will cover all of Facebook's 11,000 staff worldwide and includes mums, dads and same-sex parents.

"For too long, paid baby leave has been granted only to a mother who is giving birth," Facebook's Head of HR and Recruiting, Lori Goler, said announcing the move in a blog post. "We believe that fathers and mothers alike deserve the same level of support when they are starting and growing a family, regardless of how they define family."
