But now she’s making headlines for her personal life, as she and husband Winston are expecting their 1st child together.

The happy news comes a few years after Melissa’s previous pregnancy sadly ended in miscarriage, something she says left her feeling ‘pretty much terrified’ to announce her baby joy – in case it happens again.

In a statement posted to Glamour.com, she wrote:

"Here is the only statement that doesn't make me feel like a complete fraud:

More like this

“Melissa is expecting her first child. She is extremely overjoyed, but if she’s being honest, due to the fact that she had a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant, she’s pretty much terrified at the moment that it will happen again.

“She feels weird even announcing this at all, and would rather wait until her child heads off to college to tell anyone.

“But she figures she should probably share this news before someone sees her waddling around with her mid-section protruding and announces it first.”

Well, firstly, we just want to wish Melissa and her Mr a safe, happy and healthy pregnancy ?

Secondly, we really resonated with the honest way Melissa shared her news, as we guess it would’ve been pretty easy for her to sugarcoat things publicly.

We reckon she’s totally hit the nail on the head when it comes to describing the ‘weird feeling’ of telling everyone, of feeling exposed - and how announcing it can amplify the fear of losing the pregnancy.

There's also the element of having to state things before they become obvious, which really sucks.

Employers do need to be notified. Our friends, family and colleagues will probably eventually realise that we have baby bumps.

In Melissa's case, there's a very real chance the paps could catch her out and the news could be announced before she feels ready ?

After a miscarriage, it can feel totally terrifying to get excited about another pregnancy, and like you’re going to completely jinx your happiness just by breathing a word to anyone.

But it's important to remember, as Melissa's shown here, that it's a totally normal way to feel, and that you're really not alone.
