If you're a UK mum who's had a baby in the last few years, there's a pretty fair chance you had a C-section: according to NHS stats, last year in the UK, a third of babies were born this way, up by 11% in 5 years.

There's a similar rate in the US - where now, some mums are being offered the chance to have clear drapes during the procedure so they can witness their little one entering the world, rather than the usual screens which are designed so women don't see the operation.

Alyssa Leon from Cherry Blossom Doula Services of Arizona, USA, has shared some amazing images on social media, though admitted to ScaryMommy she can see it's not for everyone.

“Moms can choose to have it (or not!), that’s the beauty of it. It’s an option for moms that are having an uncomplicated cesarean.”

We can definitely get why a mum would love to have this option as a chance to see their baby's arrival. We have to say that, unfortunately, we don't think it's available here in the UK at the moment - though please tell us if you know any different!

And some mums might also quite like to know what's going on during the C-section.

Though we're guessing other mums might not like the idea at all...

What do you think?

Would you have liked to have this as an option for your C-section? Or were you actually pretty happy for the screen to be non-see-through? Tell us in the comments below or over on Facebook
