Rebekah Brooks is expecting baby by surrogate mother, say reports
Former News International chief and her husband, ex-racehorse trainer Charlie Brooks, are said to be having a baby by a surrogate
According to reports in a number of newspapers, Rebekah Brooks, 43, who resigned as News International chief executive in this year after the phone hacking scandal emerged, will become a mum in February.
The parents-to-be spent years trying to conceive naturally before using a surrogate mum and are said to be ‘overjoyed’ with the news they are to have a baby, a daughter.
“While the pregnancy has not been without its difficulties and sadness, Charlie and Rebekah are obviously hoping for a very happy ending to almost five years of trying to conceive themselves,” said their spokesman David Wilson, reports the Daily Mail.
“Both parents are acutely aware of the infertility problems encountered by many other couples, and in the longer term hope to recognise their own good fortune by working in some way to help others facing similar challenges,” he added.
It’s also been reported that the surrogate mum, who wishes to remain anonymous, was pregnant with twins but the baby girl’s twin died at an earlier stage of the pregnancy.
