Single dad runs free hairstyling classes for other fathers
The Daddy Daughter Hair Factory is teaching dads the braiding basics
Ponytails, plaits and ballet buns: doing your daughter's hair can be a pretty complicated business for any dad – or mum. And, after splitting up with his (more expert hair-styling) partner, single dad Philippe Morgese realised he hadn't a clue when it came to his 1-year-old daughter's hair. So Philippe, from Florida, made it his mission to teach himself.
He started with hair clips and eventually progressed to pigtails and complicated plaits. His increasingly adventurous hairstyles soon started attracting attention at the school gates, and other dads started asking him for advice.
So now he's set up a free class at a local hairdressing school to teach other dads the basics.
"I thought it would be easier to show them in person," he told Buzzfeed. "I get a lot of credit for doing my daughter's hair and hear compliments about my role as a father because of it. I want other dads to be able to experience that."
Seven dads showed up at his first class and they all practised, according to Philippe, "some basics with hair combing, ponytails, a bun, and a 3-strand braid. There was some struggling, but all the dads really put in the effort."

He then shared a photo of the class to Reddit – and it's since been viewed over 2 million times. "I feel like the kudos has made me a better dad," Philippe said. "When you hear, 'You are such an awesome dad,' you start to believe it and let go of the mistakes you make as a parent."
