Former X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon’s got a new gig, as a panellist on ITV lunchtime chat show Loose Women. And in her first episode, she made some really personal confessions.

The 26-year-old revealed that she’s ‘ruled out’ having kids with her new beau, actor Joe Swash, because of the stigma surrounding the fact she already has two children with two different fathers.

Stacey’s mum to 8-year-old Zachary and 4-year-old Leighton, and both sons are from separate relationships.

Speaking on the show, she said:

“I really, really would love more children. Selfishly, I would love more children.

More like this

“But, society makes me feel as though [I can’t].

“I have two children [from] two previous relationships and I kind of feel like I can't have another child with somebody else.”

Honestly, we reckon it’s more important that the children are happy, healthy, looked after by their parents and raised in a loving environment than anything else.

Who cares what the naysayers think, right? ?

Stacey, who had Zachary at 17, admitted that she also feels there’s a big stigma around the age you have your first child, too:

“I was 17 when I got pregnant with Zachary and I think it’s because of all of the stigma around about how old you should be when you have a child – the first thing I thought was that I have to make a decision… and not have the baby right now.

“I knew I couldn't go through with [not keeping the baby]. The best decision I ever made in my life.”

So, how do you feel about Stacey’s comments? Has stigma surrounding age and different dads ever affected you personally? Feel free to share your stories over on our Facebook page.
