OK, so it's not quite the cake doppelgänger for Frozen's Elsa but, with only two hours to whip up a cake for a critically ill child, non-profit agency Icing Smiles did an amazing job.

The birthday cake came into the social-media spotlight when Reddit user OfficalBigHead posted a picture of the cake alongside another Elsa cake made by McGreevy Cakes, and labelled it, "The cake that was ordered and the cake that arrived."

The post received over 2,000 comments in just one day and, we have to be honest, most of them weren't very complimentary.

As to whom OfficialBigHead is, we’re not quite sure. The family of the little girl have requested that Icing Smiles, who provide custom celebration cakes and other treats for families affected by the critical illness of a child, post a comment on their Facebook page in their defence.

"My heart broke for the baker," Tracy, founder of the charity wrote, "because I know how much of herself she puts into her donations.

"And my heart broke for the family, should they come across the posts, because it may take from their joy of receiving the gift.

"It also broke for our team whose extraordinary efforts were used in this way."

Tracy also went on to speak more about the baker, Lisa Randolph-Gant. "When I finally got past the initial shock," she said, "I fearfully reached out to our Sugar Angel, Lisa, to offer my sympathy and, boy, did she change my attitude.

"Her Facebook page was loaded with comments, to which she graciously replied with humour and self-deprecation.

"She even commented that she knew it wasn't her best work and maybe Elsa was getting back from rehab! The best part was that she didn't care because she made a child happy."
