You have to hand it to this dad. He clearly had no idea how to dress his 10-week-old son Lenny for bed. But he gave it a good go anyway and even discovered some surprising benefits of putting a babygrow on upside down – 'added scratch mitts' and 'easy access for nappy changing'!

Mum Gemma Louise Davies was just thrilled to get a snap before he realised his mistake. Sharing the photo on The Unmumsy Mum's Facebook page, she commented: "My husband got our ten week old baby dressed for bed- I came downstairs to find him dressed like this! My husband said he thought Lenny's babygrow was a great design as it had in his words 'added scratch mitts' along with 'easy access for nappy changing' Sorry but I couldn't stop laughing! He was so oblivious to the fact that the baby grow was in fact upside down and so serious with his reply. I am so pleased I managed to get this photograph..."

Since uploaded on 1 August, the photo has been liked over 111k times. And other mums were quick to add their own dad fails. "First time I left my husband to look after our new baby so that I could go for a check up I came home to find he had cut her nightdress off with scissors as he didn't want to bend her arms etc," one added.

"When buying bits for my baby in the local supermarket, my other half decided that we needed (in his word) one of those electric humidifier things for when your baby gets a cold you put the mask over their face and pump the lever. I nearly fell over laughing when I had to tell him that what he has in his hand was actually an electric breast pump," another said.
