Tobey Maguire confesses baby name struggle
Actor took weeks to name son Otis
Spiderman Tobey Maguire has admitted his big baby struggle, not the sleepless nights or dodging the paps with a pushchair, but deciding what to name 3-year-old Ruby and 7-month-old Otis.
Confessing it took him and wife, Jennifer, weeks to choose their son’s name, the pair only decided on Otis when the un-named little one needed a passport. “We didn’t name either of our children before the birth. We like to meet them and react to them. I went down for the birth certificate on the last day we could do it and we were so excited.”
Realising they hadn’t actually decided on a spelling for Otis, cheeky chappy Tobey played a bit of a mean joke on wife, Jennifer, taking home a fake second birth certificate form with their new son named, Oatis. “I spelt it ‘Oatis’ on a second form and brought it back to my wife, acting very innocent!”
Luckily poor Jen saw the funny side!
