Your baby certainly won’t be staying still for nine months! Our midwife talks you through his movement in the womb, from first kick to final turn
Your baby regularly moves from around eight weeks of pregnancy, although obviously as he’s so tiny you won’t be able to feel this. His brain’s sending messages to his muscles, telling them to work, which in turn helps him to grow. He’s surrounded by warm amniotic fluid, which cushions and protects him from any bumps and pressure. Being cocooned like that encourages him to keep shifting around without fear of getting hurt.
