It also looks like the favourite for Royal Baby no 3’s name – Alice – will make waves in the ‘20s, whether or not Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge decide to use it ?

(Gosh, it’s weird to think there’ll be another ‘20s, isn’t it?)

Interestingly, we’re seeing a turn away from the vintage baby name trend we’ve spotted recently, and a sway towards more modern names: Luna, Paisley, Hallie, Margot, Ezra, Jaxon, Hunter and Arlo, especially.

But there are a still a few old-school picks in the boys’ list – you can’t really get more classic than Arthur and Louie, can you? ?

Our MVPs of both lists: Aria and Wilf. Just lovely ?

Now, we have to say, the guy that's come up with these predictions - Nick Stripe, Head of Life Events at the ONS, hasn't shared his methodology publicly (that we can see).

But we're pretty sure he's had a good look at how particular names have moved up the charts in the last 10 years and from that has been able to make predictions for the names that will move up in the next 10 years.

And while of course it's not failsafe - it's still makes for an interesting read ?
