Showing that there is still life in the old man yet, 72-year-old ‘super dad’ Richard Roden is going to be a dad again – for the 13th time!
After becoming Britain’s oldest dad of twins last year after the birth of daughters Ruby and Emily, Richard and his wife Lisa, 26, are expecting again after just a few months of trying to conceive without the help of IVF.
“I’m overjoyed. I always said I’d have another,’ Dad-of-12 Richard told the Daily Mail. However, the pensioner admitted that fatherhood gets harder as the years go by, “Being a dad at 72 is definitely more tiring than in my 20s, but it gives me such pleasure.”
The grandfather of 36 and great grandfather of nine is often mistaken for his twin daughter’s grandfather – and it’s not surprising considering that they were born 50 years after the birth of his first child!
However, 2-months pregnant Lisa is not perturbed by the sniggering as she believes that Richard is more than capable of tackling fatherhood again for the 13th time. “He changes nappies like an expert and he will be just a good a dad this time around.”
