Mum-to-be goes into labour on London Underground
Rush hour on the Tube become a whole lot more eventful for some commuters yesterday when a woman went into labour.
Tube services were disrupted when the pregnant woman, travelling on a westbound Central Line tube, was suspected of going into labour. Fellow commuters alerted London Underground staff at 8.34am, and staff stayed with the mum-to-be at St Paul’s Station until London Ambulance staff arrived.
The woman was moved out of St Paul’s Station in a wheelchair and was taken to hospital. Tube services through St Paul’s resumed at 8.55am, though there were some delays on the Central Line.
Next time your train or tube is a little late, spare a thought as to why!
