The Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker, also known as the Vibrating Musical Rocking Cradle, is a bouncing rocker that’s designed to ensure your baby is calm and happy whatever mood they start it. The rocker plays music and vibrates at the push of a button. Your baby is strapped into an adjustable harness, remaining secure whilst upright. The Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker includes a support cushion for your baby’s head and a detachable washable seat cover. It’s designed for babies who can’t sit up by themselves yet, which is an age range of approximately 0-6 months. In addition the Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker has an activity bar with three removable rattles attached.

What we love

The Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker exceeded my expectations. Its claim - soothe, entertain and relax - is an ambitious one, but it does just that. Cameron fits snugly into the harness where he’s safe and secure. He’s captivated with the activity bar, with its three squeaky rattles, and the angle of the seat is perfect to enable him to interact with us and see what’s going on around him.

The vibrations provide enough of a distraction to calm and relax an agitated Cameron. In addition it’s lightweight, incredibly simple to assemble and easy to clean. It is affordable and competitive with other brands on the market.

What to watch out for

Aesthetically the Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker is not the most inspiring available. The monochrome colour scheme may be tasteful and have the advantage of being compatible with Tippitoes Activity Mats, but it lacks imagination.

The head hugger is an unnecessary addition; there’s no means of attaching it to the rocker, and is therefore reliant on being the perfect dimensions you’re your baby’s head. In our case it wasn’t and we abandoned it almost immediately. It’s meant to provide support but as it’s free standing I fail to see how it can.

Finally the clip-on activity bar detaches too easily, so whilst it’s simple to connect it is not secure enough to remain intact if the Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker is knocked or moved.

Who is the Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker best for?

Mums with hard-to-settle babies and limited space.

MadeForMums verdict

While it’s not the most eye-catching rocker on the market, nor the most robust, the Tippitoes Vibrating Rocker achieves what it sets out to do, that is to soothe babies. The musical features may be lost on some babies, but the vibrations do distract and calm fractious babies. It’s safe and easy to store, perfectly designed for curious babies, and above all it’s reasonably priced.
