This time, BRIO’s triumph is called the Grow, one of only two highchairs that BRIO offers. If the BRIO Sit highchair is one for the more classic kitchen, then the Grow is its minimalist cousin – more suited to kitchens where chrome is a feature.
What we love
My tester Jack, 14 months, loved the seat on the BRIO Grow. It's shaped for comfort, padded and made of leather – more like the driver's seat in a sleek sports car than a vehicle for baby feeding!
Another good feature is the safety harness, as although many highchairs claim a harness isn't needed due to the restrictive design, Jack has seen it as a personal challenge to worm his way out of every single highchair he's even been in.
The clip-on food tray (purchased separately) is well designed and the rounded edges mean that there are no fiddly corners from which to try and scrap out food debris.
It's stylish, it's designed well and it feels like it’s good quality.
What to watch out for
In common with the BRIO Sit, the Grow highchair is also suitable for babies and toddlers, although unlike the Sit it isn't height adjustable, which is a major drawback. The one seat height is 57cm, so if you want your baby to eat at the table with you, check your table height before you buy.
The textured surface of the food tray does tend to hold onto dirt and it needs a good scrub to make sure it comes up clean.
The base is quite broad on the BRIO Grow, which is great for stability, but something to watch out for if you have a kitchen where space is a big consideration.
