Pros

  • stretchy soft sides that adjust to your baby's moves, compact design, double elasticated leg cuffs to stop leakage

Cons

  • Not as comfortable when wet or quite as snug as some leading brands

Your baby’s on the move, and suddenly he wants to explore everywhere! Designed just for this, Sainsbury’s little ones explore nappies should help him enjoy his adventures in comfort.

So, what do you need in a nappy when your baby meets that crucial milestone and starts to crawl or walk? Flexibility, comfort and absorbency are all important, and Sainsbury’s little ones explore delivers on all three to varying degrees. Like Pampers Active Fit, Sainsbury’s little ones explore nappies are compact and secure to allow free movement, have extra stretchy sides that adjust to accommodate your baby’s moves and double elasticated leg cuffs to provide enhanced protection against leakage. They also claim to have a soft, extra absorbent lining, keeping your baby’s bottom smooth, dry and comfortable. We got a pack of 44 for £5.98.

What we love

My daughter Tippi is now crawling and loves it! So it was very important to find the right nappy to join her on her travels. Sainsbury’s little ones explore nappies are shaped to fit for this very purpose. Their flexibility means they can adjust to her individual moves and they certainly look like they allow her the free movement they claim to offer.

With Tippi generally sleeping through the night, I’m also confident about leaving her in the Sainsbury’s little ones explore nappies overnight. They do fit snugly round the legs and I was confident in their capability to deal with whatever may occur.

We loved the lilac jungle design, and found the stretchy sides a real bonus when trying to change her! I think these are similar to the Pamper’s Active Fit range, just with a lower price tag.

What to watch out for

Sainsbury’s little ones explore don’t seem as comfortable as the Pamper’s Active Fit, and because they’re not as contoured they just don’t seem to hug Tippi’s bottom in quite the same snugly way.

Also, although we didn’t experience any leakage, they just didn’t seem as comfortable when wet.

Who are Sainsbury’s little ones explore nappies best for?

Mums with mobile babies after a stretchy, flexible nappy without the price tag.

MadeForMums verdict

Sainsbury’s little ones explore are a cute nappy for babies on the go. They are stretchy and shaped to fit, though they may not be as snug and kind to your baby’s bottom as one of the leading name brands. That said, they can last overnight and they’re definitely a lot kinder to your purse.
