The main difference between Sudocrem and many other nappy rash products is that it’s a licensed medicine, which means that it’s clinically proven to help heal nappy rash. It’s an antiseptic cream that soothes, heals and protects, and as well as sore bums, you can also use it on sunburn, acne, minor burns, cuts and grazes. So it really is something you shouldn’t leave home without!
What we love
Sudocrem is my favourite nappy cream for everyday use. I use it on my 22-month-old daughter, Martha, and I used it on her two big sisters as well. It’s great value for money as it lasts for ages. With my first child I tried numerous other creams, and found that none of them really worked, and lots were really expensive to boot. I really like the slightly antiseptic, medicinal smell, too.
What to watch out for
It’s quite hard to wash off, so when I found Martha in the bathroom the other day studiously coating herself from top to bottom in the stuff, I had to put her in the bath to get it all off! I’ve noticed that if the weather gets really hot it goes much runnier, so you have to be careful it doesn’t go everywhere.
I find it really useful for prevention of nappy rash, but if a bad bout strikes, it takes a day or so to clear it up, although it seems to soothe it in the meantime.
