Pros

  • Lightweight, useful sealing tape to tie up used pants, comfortable fit around the leg, easy to tear off and remove

Cons

  • Using pull-ups will always be a bit more expensive than using nappies

Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are lightweight slim pull-up nappies that are significantly cheaper than other brands, but still provide good comfort and protection for active toddlers.

Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are a range of pull-up nappy available in 3 sizes (maxi, Junior and extra large) to fit tots from 7kg to over 25kg. They come in packets of 18 or 20 (depending on the size), priced at £4.29.

Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are ultra-thin, with a super absorbent core. They have soft stretchy sides that you can easily tear apart to remove the pants. They also have a plastic tape at the back, which you can use to hold shut a rolled-up pant before you dispose of it. Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons come with a simple teddy-bear illustration on the front and back, to suit both boys and girls.

What we love

In the past I’d been quite loyal to the Pampers brand, so it’s been a change to move to a supermarket own brand. I’ve been pleasantly surprised – Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons seem slimmer than other brands and therefore more akin to underwear. They also seem to come up a bit higher on Peter who wears the extra-large size and as a result we’ve not experienced leaks around the waist band, which he’s often had overnight with other nappies (he drinks a large amount of water in the night).

Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are comfortable around the leg and Peter’s sometimes explosive poos have remained well contained! He’s also very prone to nappy rash, but hasn’t experienced it when wearing these.

Although Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are not specifically marketed as a potty-training pant, Peter has been able to pull them up and down himself when he’s been using the potty or after sleeps and they’ve helped to encourage his independence.

The price of Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons is also not to be sniffed at – on average they are about 3p cheaper per nappy than the other main brands of pull-ups.

What to watch out for

Whenever you move from nappies to pull-up pants, it’s always a more expensive option, as the price per pull-up is higher than that per nappy. So you need to ensure that making the transition is a necessary one.

Who are Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons best for?

Mums after a pull-up option that doesn’t compromise on comfort or protection.

MadeForMums verdict

Sainsbury’s little ones pull-ons are comfortable for your toddler and easy to use and dispose of. They’re cheaper than other brands yet are still reliable. They can also offer a great start to early independence for a toddler making the move to toilet training.
