Bright Bots training pants

Great value, huge range of colours, feel like real pants

Won't catch a poo

Bright Bots come in an enormously wide range of colours, and are all plain designs, no prints. They are good value for money but you need to be quick after an accident!

There are four sizes of Bright Bots training pants: small; medium; large and extra large. They’re made of two layers of cotton jersey, with absorbent foam with a waterproof backing in between the two layers.

What we love

These are a fantastic value option – much cheaper than nearly all other training pants on the market and available in an enormous range of colours. The main part of the pants isn’t padded, so that they feel like normal pants: a good thing as it means your child doesn’t think he’s wearing a nappy and is free to wee copiously! There’s then some foam padding between the legs which is absorbent enough to catch one little wee, so they’re fine for the occasional accident while your child gets used to the idea of being in pants.

What to watch out for

These are only really workable if your child has the odd light accident. They are not equipped to soak up a lot of wee as they’re not absorbent enough and you have to change the pants quite swiftly after an accident, too. The elastic isn’t really any more secure round the legs than normal pants, so if you’re expecting poo accidents, you’d be better with something that’s more guaranteed to contain them.

Who are Bright Bots training pants best for?

Mums who want to buy lots of pairs and are willing to change quickly after one accident.

MadeForMums verdict

A great choice if you have plenty of pairs and don’t mind changing them swiftly after every accident. Not a good choice if you’re not confident that you child is ready to go to the loo for poos. They’re a fantastic price and the colour range is excellent.
