The Graco Logico S car seat base easily fitted in our vehicle and felt very sturdy and safe, and the Graco Logico S car seat, a Group 0+, was a cinch to click into place. When the car seat was fitted to the pushchair and my son, Nathaniel, was asleep, I found it very easy to take the car seat off the pushchair without disturbing him.
I was thoroughly impressed with the 5-point harness on the pushchair, which was easy to adjust and the shoulder straps were very well padded, as quite a few pushchairs on the market just have D rings and leave you to make your own harness from a set of reins.
If you’re a keen shopper while you’re out walking your little one like I am, you'll love the large foldable basket underneath. It’s the biggest under-pushchair storage I have seen. I found it very useful for holding my coat, as I often get very warm when out pushing Nathaniel. Also, it was good for holding the raincover, which is an optional extra for £32.99, so you don't get caught out in a shower.
I liked the reflective trim around the hood – especially great for winter months. Walking home from visiting relatives on a late afternoon, I felt that the pushchair was very visible to other pedestrians and vehicles on the road, especially as the purple (Midnight) colour of the pram looked quite dark at night.
One other big plus that my current pram doesn't have, is that when the Graco Quattro Tour Sport is folded it stands upright on its own, so you don't have to worry that leaning it against the walls in your home will cause endless dirty marks from the wheels.
What to watch out for
I'd worked up a sweat just taking the Graco Logico S car seat, base and Graco Quattro Tour Sport pushchair out of the box, as they were all very heavy, and even my husband commented on their size. The pushchair weighs 12kg and the car seat is 4kg, so you'll be pushing 16kg at times. The car seat base is 3kg.
The car seat harness took some time to adjust and there are different heights at the back of the seat that the straps can poke through. Nathaniel at 10 weeks was already too big for the first setting and altering the harness took some time.
The most time-consuming process was fitting the rear axle to the chassis and attaching the rear wheels with spring clips. This was a very fiddly process and I had to get my husband to do it for me.
When the pushchair was in the newborn position, I found the back support didn't recline all the way down, which put me off as I wanted Nathaniel to lie flat. Also, there was no proper support behind his head - any large items being put into the basket could easily knock him.
While there is a viewing window through the hood canopy, so you can keep an eye on your baby, I didn't like that the only way I could have Nathaniel face me was by putting the car seat on the pushchair or putting him in the carrycot, which made him quite hot. I also found that, although I could access the large storage basket underneath, I couldn't put any bulky packages inside as they wouldn't fit in the gap.
If you rely on public transport, be prepared to get on the bus through the middle doors, as I couldn't get past the front few seats to the pushchair park. Once there, the pushchair's size made it difficult to fit another pram next to it, or the back and handle took up room in the aisle if stored the other way.
My first few attempts to attach the Graco Logico S car seat to the pushchair were pitiful, as there wasn't a lot of give in the clips, understandably, so the car seat can't move about. After 10 tries I finally found the knack of twisting the clip. As the car seat attaches straight to the pushchair, I found when I needed to wheel Nathaniel around in the car seat, I obviously needed to put the whole system in the boot. This took up an awful lot of room when compared with models where the pram part detaches from the wheels and you can just take the chassis and wheels with you.
