Hi Em, I have 17mth gap between my boys and only advice i can give is try and buy a phil and teds!!!!
I bought a tandem(found that very heavy, and if eldest in front,he couldn't recline as lil one so big he got squashed) then bought side by side, which was great at first then as lil fella got heavier,it is getting too heavy. Tried a mates p&t and it's brilliant! They are superb but pricey! Wish i cld afford brand new one!

What ever you do, don't go for side to side, go for the in frount style.
It's hard enough pushing a buggie around the shops as it is! My sister and I had our first children very close together, and decided to get a double buggie so one of us could push and the other could shop! We ended up with a side by side and the first time we used it, I took out a whole shop......The kids cried everytime we tried to put them in it......I we could'nt fold the blasted thing to get it back in the boot.....Not a good day!

I can definetely reccommend the 'icandy Pear, Its amazing, theres so many combinations for seating your kids- facing you, facing away, 1 in the car seat, & 1 in a buggy seat, fits a carry cot and the maxi cosi car seat too. We have a BWM 1 series and the boot is tiny but this fits in no problem, its folds to the size of a single pram. Its heavy to push but I have two children in it so its bound to be. I bought mine second hand from ebay for £375, had I been watching ebay more closely I could have had a real bargain, a couple of them went for £250 & £270 but never mind I was happy to pay what I did as it would have cost me £650 brand new.

Babies'r'us have sale on phil and teds prams. single pram is down to £339.99. also if you sign for their newsletters they regularly have 20%off any babies'r'us item and it will bringthe cost down to £270. mothercare has buy one get one half price on Phil andTEds accessories so you can get the raincover and the car seat adaptor. I am at the moment waiting for the sales to get the double seat as baby is not due until March If you shop around you can find things much cheaper and cut the cost down a bit.
i was undecided between graco stadium and phil&teds but my lo will be 26months when baby is born so another year after and she will be fully walking and this is why i went for a pram you can use as single afterwards. Saves you the trouble of selling the tandem and buying a single. also when she is tired i can always add the extra seat and there you go
Good luck no matter what you choose xx

we were SO lucky, we saw an Ad for a second hand double buggy on Morrisons noticeboard - £15! lasted long enough until 2yo was happy to walk, and we moved onto a buggyboard and a single buggy quite quickly.... the double buggy then got passed onto a neighbour, so it was well used for £15! )
good luck with whatever you get too x

Hiya I have to agree with Mandi that the Britax B Dual is great. I've been looking at a few tandem pushchairs in the shops but will be trawling the internet for the best price once I've decided.

Just a tip from a 5 3 mum its much more difficult to get a one in front of the other buggy up kerbs than it is side by side if your not tall enough to get your weight behind it! I found side by side better
