1. Marloes Peninsula, Pembrokeshire, Wales

Home to Britain’s only coastal national park, this county in West Wales also has an impressive list of Blue Flag beaches to trike to and explore with your little one.

The Marloes Peninsula is perfect for a clifftop walk and puffin spotting – and fully accessible.

There are also some great outdoor family attractions like Folly Farm and Tenby Dinosaur Park with plenty of big wide paths for your toddler to whizz about on.

2. Conistion Water and Lake Windermere, Lake District, Cumbria

Your child should sleep soundly after a day roaming this breathtaking part of Britain.

While the Lakes are famed for their mountains, there are plenty of flat walks to be had, such as along the banks of Coniston Water and Windermere’s western shores.

Head to Grizedale Forest to see UK’s only indigenous woodland red deer population or follow the Beatrix Potter-themed trail at Brockhole on Windermere

3. Southwold Beach, Suffolk

Spot boats, visit the Victorian pier and stop for an ice cream as you amble along the seafront of this quintessential seaside town in East Anglia.

Outside of Southwold itself you can explore the wetlands, woods and wildlife at RSPB Minsmere or Carlton & Oulton Marshes, where you might spy Britain’s biggest spider, the fen raft.

But if it’s a coast walk you want, the sandy Blue Flag beach here is fairly flat and lined with brightly-coloured huts to charm your tot - and taking along a trike for the seafront paths is the ideal way to let your child explore an area like this safely and conveniently.

4. The Wild Atlantic Way - Ireland’s West Coast

Pack your trike in the boot and take a trip across the Irish Sea to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, 2,500km of coastline from Kinsale to Londonderry.

Bohemian Galway City is a great base, with plenty of rainy days activities and the charming Claddagh shore area.

You can also take a trip to the mystical Aran islands, which are easy to explore on foot and offer unspoilt sandy beaches.

5. New Forest, Hampshire

Your child can steer their way through the wilds of the New Forest, spotting the wild ponies and boars as they go as well as avoiding black adders (the only poisonous snake in the UK).

Base yourself at the area’s unofficial capital, Lyndhurst, and buy a ticket for the New Forest Tour, a seasonal hop-on, hop-off bus that let’s you explore without the hassle of finding a parking spot.

Don’t forget a trip to Paulton’s Park, home of Peppa Pig World, and the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu.

6. Mounts Bay, Penzance, Cornwall

Work up an appetite for a cream tea by walking the South West Coast Path to Marazion.

This trail along Mounts Bay has lots of spots to picnic, skim pebbles and build sandcastles, with views of the fairytale castle of St Michael’s Mount.

A swim in the town’s Art Deco lido is also recommended. There’s a small children’s pool which is ideal for toddlers and open from May to September.

7. The Cotswolds

With its rolling hills, quaint thatched cottages and historic cities, this area of outstanding natural beauty is often regarded as the heart of England.

It also has something for everyone, from strolling the majestic streets of Bath and Oxford to stretching those legs beside the lakes at Cotswolds Water Park.

For the wow factor, head to the ground of Blenheim Palace while Fairytale Farm in Chipping Norton is fully accessible should your trike come too.

8. Oban Seafront, Scotland

This coastal town in the West Highlands is known as the seafood capital of Scotland, so the perfect place for some fish and chips!

You can explore the seafront and its four piers or sail off for an adventure at one of the nearby Hebridean islands, with plenty of ferries each day.

If rain strikes, the Scottish SeaLife Sanctuary is a 20-minute drive up the coast and welcomes buggies inside.

9. Dalby Forest, North York Moors

Chocolate box villages, windswept beaches and dramatic countryside – this national park has it all.

Head to atmospheric Dalby Forest to take The Highway Rat trail (you may also spot a cheeky Gruffalo along the way). The visitor centre also has a fantastic wooden play area.

Scarborough is the place to blow away the cobwebs. Britain’s oldest seaside resort offers traditional delights, two sandy beaches and oodles of charm.

10. Dinan and Rennes, Brittany, France

British families flock to this region for its abundance of beaches but we love that charms of its medieval towns and villages, like Dinan and Rennes.

Your Child can meander the streets and markets with you at a chilled pace, stopping off to fuel up on the local delicacy and crepes.

The region has miles and miles of dedicated cycle paths known as Voie Verts (Green Ways), many of which have adapted surfaces to help younger children on trikes and smaller bikes.
