Men who want to boost their chances of becoming a dad should look no further than their nuts. Walnuts, that is.
Scientists from the University of California have discovered that eating a handful of walnuts every day can improve men’s sperm count and quality, giving them a better chance of fathering a child.
The study looked at 117 men aged 21-25, asking half to eat a 75 gram bag of walnuts every day for three months.
The results showed a significant boost to the walnut eating group’s sperm concentration, vitality, ability to move, shape and size, with the biggest improvement seen in the men whose sperm were the worst swimmers at the beginning of the study.
Walnuts are rich in essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6, which are thought to be beneficial for sperm development and function.
Just one more reason why coffee and walnut cake is an essential part of any diet…
