The shortlist is out for the best family friendly museum in the country. Recommended by families like you, the shortlist has been whittled down by a panel of judges from 20 nominations to the six finalists. But it’s families who will get the final say.

The criteria included activities for children and teenagers of different age groups, specialist educational sessions for children, general accessibility (such as highchairs in the café) and the museum’s interaction with the local community. The Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award will be announced in early April.
