Elmo and gang produce new episodes to help children learn key skills
The creators ofSesame Streetare to produce new episodes of the popular show that promote the learning of core subjects, which they are referring to as STEM: science, technology, engineering and math.
Their lead comes from none other then Mr Obama himself, who has been promoting new education schemes stating that STEM subjects are critical in education.
Rosemarie Truglio, vice president for education and research at Sesame Workshop, who produceSesame Streetsaid, “We have to plant the seed now for scientists, mathematicians, technologists and engineers.”
Sesame Street has created 26 new shows that will introduce toddlers to key scientific skills. “Science is a wonderful area for us to explore because children are natural scientists,” says Rosemarie. “They come into this world wanting to know how it works.”
If only learning had been this much fun when we were little!
