Seven-year-olds adopt Brangelina’s children in online game

Anger over web game where girls adopt children, buy condoms and take the morning after pill

Girls as young as 7 are playing a new web game where they make their virtual characters adopt children as fashion accessories.

My Minx also allows girls to make their characters buy condoms, take the pill and emergency contraceptives and dress in lingerie and revealing outfits.

Players can buy orphans at the virtual adoption clinic, including girls called Pax and Maddox and a boy named Zahara, after Brangelina's adopted children. Characters based on Madonna's adopted children, David Bana and Mercy, can also be bought, as well as a Mongolian girl called Jamiyan, based on Ewan McGregor's adopted daughter. Girls can even adopt children from Haiti to make their "family more fashionable."

Since its launch before Christmas, My Minx has attracted 20,000 members. There are no age limits and players have to top up their virtual cash via £1.50 texts or Paypal.

"Their parents will not have any idea that they are playing this game and the children will fail to appreciate its irony," said Bill Hibbard from Parentkind. "Having them buy virtual condoms or morning after pills will not make them any less promiscuous. It is sending out all the wrong messages."

My Minx
creator, Christopher Evans, 30, insisted the game was "harmless, tongue-in-cheek entertainment," adding, "it is nonsense to suggest our game is a bad influence on young children. The game teaches children about the world while poking fun at celebrity adoptions."
