While we can’t promise a miracle solution for a solid night’s sleep, this year’s entries provided plenty of useful products to help nighttimes run as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

This year in our sleep categories we examined Moses baskets, newborn cribs, cots and co-sleepers, put the best baby monitors through their paces with the help of sleep consultant Chris McFadden, and combined home tester feedback with expert judges opinions’ on bedding, sleeping bags and nursery accessories.

Thinking of safety and comfort first, we tested mattresses for firmness, checked bedside cribs for breathability and closely investigated details like zips and labels to ensure a safe night's sleep. Ease of use, quality and assembly time, as well as how well our tester’s children slept, were also important judging criteria. See below for 2024’s best sleeping and nursery products.

Venture Hush Bedside Crib product shot_Gold

Why it’s a winner: We found this safe and sturdy bedside crib was easy to put together, with one parent tester managing to assemble it in under 5 minutes. Suitable from birth to 6 months, the Venture Hush Bedside Crib is height-adjustable, meaning you can match it to the height of your bed, and the drop-side allows easy access to your baby. It also won points for the clever rocking system, which you can activate by clicking the leg bars of the crib into position (with the drop-side panel up for safety). These were features that really impressed our judges, along with the sturdy padded mattress and breathable mesh panels, and the handy under-crib shelf for storing baby essentials. It also looks good, too — parent testers praised the stylish and modern design – and is very competitively-priced.

In the words of parent tester Amy, who tested this with their 5 week old: "This is a great bedside crib, which is easy to construct, feels safe and sturdy, looks good and is intuitive to use. Price-wise it is worth it for the peace of mind it brings and the range of features offered."
