New mum Giovanna Fletcher has spoken out about her labour, calling it “amazingly powerful”. She also revealed how Michael McIntyre and Coldplay helped her through the birth experience.
The author, married to McFly star Tom Fletcher, opened up on her blog, relaying all the details of Buzz’s arrival into the world.
Giovanna used hypno-birthing techniques to help her relax and recalls happily that her labour was nothing like the horror stories she’d heard.
So where do Michael and Chris fit in? Giovanna admits she relied on Michael McIntyre DVDs and singing along to Coldplay albums (not McFly?) to help her through labour. She also gives thanks to a constant stream of jelly babies.
Oh, and hubby Tom was of course on hand to support his wife.

“Tom was as encouraging as I knew he would be - rubbing my back and reminding me to breathe anytime a frown appeared on my brow. He anchored me and made sure the day was as we’d hoped it would be.”
Giovanna also took the opportunity to share a snap of Buzz, who looked suspiciously like he was playing a teeny-tiny air guitar – Tom will be proud!
The new mum signed off her blog saying: “I can’t stop looking at Buzz’s little face and smiling euphorically at Tom. We’d done it. We made that little man. He is already, without doubt, my greatest achievement in life.”
