Kate Middleton is planning a low-key baby shower ahead of the arrival of her child in July.

The Duchess, who is currently five months pregnant, is reportedly breaking royal tradition and having the do’ thrown by party planning sister Pippa rather than Buckingham Palace’s usual organisers.

"It was her sister Pippa’s idea,” a source told US OK! Magazine.

"Since this is going to be a first for the royals, Kate would love the Queen to be part of it.”

“While it’s all going to be very relaxed and fun, Kate is hoping the Queen will drop by because the two are remarkably close. They bonded big time and really enjoy each other’s company.”

Pippa, who helped arrange Kate and Will’s gorgeous wedding and runs the Middleton's family buisness Party Pieces, is taking charge of all the arrangements – from decorations, food, gifts and more.

“Pippa is in charge,” added the source. “Wine and beer will be available – not that Kate will be drinking alcohol of course. There will certainly be none of the hard stuff.”

While Kate is in the midst of baby party fever, hubby William is rumoured to be leaving his Royal Air Force Search and Rescue job just before their little one’s due date.

Kate has kept up her royal duties during her pregnancy, visiting UK scouts and hopping on the tube for it's 150th year anniversary, but won’t be travelling abroad for the rest of the year.
