Peter, 40, and Emily, 23, confirmed their pregnancy in July. Peter has two children from his relationship with Katie Price, Junior, 8, and Princess, 6.

He told new! magazine: “A couple of magazines published stories last week saying I am planning to propose to Emily and have already been ring shopping. One even claimed I am considering spending £60,000 on a ring. All I will say is that the stories are completely untrue and made up.

“I have never discussed anything like that with anyone.”

He is also angry at rumours that Emily’s parents are disappointed that she is deferring her final year at medical school to have the baby, and that they said Peter has a lot of “baggage”.

He said: “There was an article written about Emily's family last week. All I'm going to say is, it's not true.”

Peter has known Emily’s parents for years, and it was Emily’s father who introduced the couple.

“He's really close to Ru [Emily’s father] and they have a good friendship, so it came completely out of the blue for someone to say otherwise,” a source told Yahoo’s OMG

“Ru would never have introduced Emily to Pete if he had an issue with his lifestyle. He spent two weeks in Zanzibar with Pete in June without Emily and they had a great time.

“Ru and Rebecca [Emily's parents] often invite Pete to their house for barbecues and he stays there every few weeks. Why would they welcome him into his home if they thought he had 'a lot of baggage' and weren't fans of the world he lives in?”

Peter and Emily's baby is due early next year.
