Pregnant Kate Middleton is rumoured to have inspired the Royal Collection Trust to produce a range of royal baby-themed goods.

The Trust, a charity that looks after the Queen’s art collection, makes its money from sales in various official gift shops, including the one nestled in Buckingham Palace.

It’s thought that, alongside the ever-popular royal memorabilia (in which a recent ITV documentary revealed a crown-print shower cap is one of the most popular items) there’ll be royal baby-inspired goods. A spokesman told the Telegraph:

“An official range to celebrate the birth of a future monarch would be made, but not until after the event.”

Presumably this is so the gift shop can theme items appropriately for whether it’s a boy or a girl (ahem, Prince or Princess) and perhaps launch products emblazoned with the baby’s name and birthday.

Kate and William’s wedding was said to provide a huge boost for the charity, with Kate’s wedding dress alone drawing £10 million worth of admissions to the Queen's London residence when put on display. The gift shop itself say an increase of almost £1.7 million.
