Was Denise Van Outen dropped as TV judge because she’s pregnant?
Mum-to-be presenter claims pregnancy played a part in her being replaced by Charlotte Church on BBC’s Over The Rainbow talent show
Pregnant star Denise Van Outen has spoken out about being axed as the talent judge on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s show Over The Rainbow, saying, “I’m not ill, I am just having a baby”.
Hours after the announcement of the new judging line up, which includes 23-year-old singer Charlotte Church, Denise has hit out saying she believes the reason behind the decision is because she is expecting. “I feel disappointed and let down. Being pregnant is not an issue for me, I feel fit and healthy,” she told The Sun whilst doing a charity walk for Sport Relief. “I feel in really good health and I am sure lots of other pregnant women feel the same as me.”
However, the BBC has released a statement denying Denise’s claims and explaining their decision to replace all the judges. "Over the Rainbow is a brand new show for BBC1 with a completely new line-up of judges. As a result neither Denise Van Outen nor John Barrowman nor any of the other five previous judges will be taking part on the panel."
Denise clearly disagrees if her recent tweet on Twitter is anything to go by. “Even though I'm pregnant I feel fit and healthy enough to take on anything. There's no excuse!”
Showing the BBC that being 6-months pregnant is not a hindrance, Denise strutted her stuff down the catwalk last night to open London Fashion Week.

Denise is due to give birth in May, her first baby with husband Lee Mead, 29.
