Why Amy Childs gave up her bulldog after it became jealous of her newborn

The 26-year-old revealed her beloved bulldog Leo had simply become too jealous of the newborn to stay in the house.

“He’s been my baby for 3 years, but he was so big and got a bit jealous,” Amy admitted in her new! magazine column. "I have to put Polly first.”

Luckily, she managed to find Leo a loving new home.

“He has gone to a lovely couple who are my good friends. [They] have a beautiful house and a huge garden, and Leo absolutely loves it,” she shared.

“It’s broken my heart, though. I can’t even visit him at the moment as I know I’ll get really upset and stressed.”

A tweet posted at the end of Amy’s pregnancy gave a hint of what was to come.

The star shared a pic of Leo looking rather displeased that his owner's baby was due soon...

We know this can’t have been an easy call to make - especially as Amy’s spent years of her life loving and caring for this animal.

One MFM writer thinks the decision makes total sense, while another admits she doesn’t think she would be able to give up her dog, in a similar situation.

But when it comes down to it, as long as your pet goes straight into a happy new home, we reckon it’s totally a personal decision, and it’s all about doing what’s right for you and your baby ?
