Here at MFM HQ, we like to think of ourselves as pretty hot mamas (on a good day) so we felt a teeny bit kicked in the teeth when we read this W magazine interview with indie actress Chloe Sevigny, who admitted she puts her youthful good looks (she is gorgeous, right?) down to not having kids yet.

Speaking about how tough it can be for a woman over 40 in the movies, the 41-year-old Love and Friendship star said:

"I think the baby wear and tear and stress on your body is part of the reason why people say, 'Why do you still look so young?'

"I really think that that unfortunately ages women, especially when they have children in their 30s, not in their 20s. So I think, first and foremost, it’s that and genetics."

Oh, well, she does reckon some of it's down to genetics. And she also told W she personally has a fancy dermatologist to help keep her skincare in check, which is fair enough...

A few people were quick to comment on Chloe's frank chat, one saying: "Chloe must have friends who have children, now they know what she thinks of them..."

Another was more in agreement - and added a comment about dads, too, saying:

"I think men look older after kids arrive as well. It's stressful and life-changing."

We can agree that growing a wee human inside you, the sleepless nights and no time WHATSOEVER to do anything with your hair might mean we're not as dapper-looking as we used to be.

Although the odd grey hairs and extra wrinkles that come with worrying about your little one are totally worth it, obvs.

But we can still rock it when we want to, right? (Please say we can!) ?
