The real reason George and Amal Clooney chose these "normal" baby names
"We just didn't want really dumb names"
Celebs are known for their somewhat quirky baby name choices ?
But actor George Clooney, 56, and lawyer Amal Clooney, 39, have shunned the trend for unusual monikers when it comes to their 12-week-old twins.
The baby boy, named Alex, and the baby girl, named Ella, were purposefully given traditional names.
Because, George told Entertainment Tonight, he didn't want them to have "dumb" ones.
"We figured these kids are going to be looked at a lot and watched and every move sort of judged," he revealed.

"We wanted them to at least have a break with the names. So we looked for some sort of normal names."
He also added that those "normal" names weren't inspired by anyone in particular:
"We didn't have any great inspiration. It wasn't Alexander the Great and Ella Fitzgerald."
To be fair, we can only imagine what it's like to know your kids will end up tabloid faves by default, as we've never been mega (or even remotely) famous.
So, we can only say 'fair enough' to George's statement about giving his little one's low-key names, and hope that Alex and Ella grow up to love what they're called!
