Traditionally, the domain of little girls, the latest Barbie doll advert features a little boy. And we LOVE it.

The advert shows the boy sporting a trendy Mohawk haircut and giggling with two girls as they play with the limited edition Moschino Barbie.

"Moschino Barbie is SO fierce!" The little boy says as he holds Barbie's handbag, before putting it on her arm.

When Barbie's tiny plastic mobile phone rings the boy puts it to her ear and says, "It's for you Moschino Barbie" and gives the camera a knowing wink.

Just last week, we shared images from a Spanish toy catalogue that showed boys playing with prams and girls wielding toy powertools.

And now, this is the latest toy ad to challenge gender stereotypes.

"First BOY in Barbie commercial YES, YES and YES!!! 21st century - FINALLY! And he is so cute! LOVE this commercial :)," one YouTuber commented.

"This almost made me cry! I used to play with my sister's Barbies and felt such shame afterward. I'm so glad we can just let kids be kids. Thank you for this! Boys like dolls too!" another added.

The progressive ad clearly worked as the limited edition £98 Barbie sold out in less than an hour. Ohhh, that's one thing to take off our Christmas list.
