Kai Rooney cries at England’s World Cup score
Wayne Rooney’s 4-year-old son couldn't hide his feelings during England’s 2 – 1 loss against Uruguay
England striker Wayne Rooney’s eldest son Kai burst into tears after England's 2 - 1 loss against Uruguay on Thursday.
The 4-year-old, his 1-year-old brother Klay and mum Coleen Rooney flew to Sao Paulo last week to support the footballer and were pictured watching the nail-biting, yet unsuccessful, match from the stands.
Fans were disappointed with the end result - as was Wayne's young son. When Kai learned of the score, he scrunched up his face and began to cry, as Coleen tried to comfort him.
It hasn’t been the best start to the World Cup for England, but little Kai did have something to smile about, as his dad scored his first ever World Cup goal. Proud wife Coleen was spotted looking emotional and later expressed her joy on Twitter.
‘Gutted with the score, but so pleased @WayneRooney scored and his boys were here to see it!!’ she tweeted.
