Actress Michelle Williams dedicated her Golden Globe win to her daughter Matilda, 6. Michelle picked up the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy last night.

The single mum thanked her little girl, whose dad is the late actor Heath Ledger, in a heartfelt acceptance speech.

“I consider myself a mother first and an actress second, and so the person I most want to thank is my daughter, my little girl, whose bravery and exuberance is the example that I take with me in my work and in my life,” said Michelle.

The 31-year-old took home the gong for her leading role as Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in the movie My Week with Marilyn.

Michelle, who looked stunning in a midnight blue gown, also revealed she read bedtime stories to Matilda in a Marilyn voice for six months to prepare for the role.
