Ah, the Oscars!
A great place to be if you’re a glamorous Hollywood movie star (or in 2017, someone who worked on films La La Land or Moonlight).
But for expectant Natalie Portman, who is said to be in the last few weeks of her 2nd pregnancy, it seemed that the famed awards ceremony wasn’t the place to be, after all.
The 35-year-old Jackie actress was nominated for both an Oscar and a Film Independent Spirit Award, but decided not to attend either ceremony, citing her pregnancy as the reason.
She said in a statement to E! News:

"Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards. I feel so lucky to be honoured among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
Fortunately it seems there’s nothing wrong with Natalie - and we certainly hope she's doing OK. We reckon she probs just wants to put her feet up and chill ?
After all, she did attend the Oscar nominees luncheon wearing a lovely simple black dress and what appeared to be a pair of matching flats, not heels (pictured above) ?
In the end, Natalie didn't win the Oscar for her performance in Jackie... but who can forget her 2011 win for her role in Black Swan?
And, while we're talking maternity style, the headline-grabbing purple number she wore to collect her award?
Anyway, back to the 2017 Oscars...
At the Vanity Fair Oscars bash, pregnant Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walked the red carpet with fiance Jason Statham ?
It's the first time we've seen Rosie's bump on the red carpet, but she certainly appeared to be bumping along nicely, wearing a stunning silvery gown.
There’s no official word on her due date, but one thing from the awards show was pretty clear…
Chrissy Teigen needs some sleep!
The 31-year-old mum of 1 was spotted during the televised ceremony engaging in what looks like a little snooze on husband John Legend’s shoulder.
We wonder if she was just resting her eyes for a few seconds, or even going for a full-blown tactical nap to help get her through the after party.
Or perhaps Luna, who was born in April 2016, has been keeping mum really busy lately!
Either way, we can totally relate ?
