The happy news was announced on Twitter as Amanda excitedly tweeted, "Lexi's question of the day (and most days), 'Mama when are you going to get a baby in your tummy?' Happy to say TODAY Lexi! Mama is pregnant!"

The happy news comes six months after Amanda tragically had a stillbirth seven months into her pregnancy.

Amanda and her husband Chris Hughes confirmed their happy news on Amanda's official website today after saying they were "thrilled and overwhelmed" about being parents again.

"Chris, Lexi and I are delighted to announce that I am pregnant and we are expecting a little girl. The first half of this year has been unbelievably difficult for us and so we are beyond delighted to share this news with you," Amanda writes on her website. "I will be putting myself and this pregnancy first. I have taken medical advice and although I am a strong girl and this is 'once again' a good healthy pregnancy I will absolutely not be taking any risks."

"Your ongoing support for us this year has been so touching. We are enormously grateful. Thank you so much for your understanding," Amanda said.

Amanda, 40, is currently playing the role as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical, but has announced that she'll be finishing her stint eight weeks early because of her pregnancy.

The new baby will join Amanda and Chris' daughter Lexi, 5.

Massive congratulations Amanda!
