Amanda Holden is celebrating the birth of her second baby today, after checking herself into hospital several days ago with suspected labour pains.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge pulled out of filming auditions, after feeling poorly. But the 40-year-old is on the mend after giving birth to a healthy baby girl.
“Hollie Rose Hughes was born on 23 January 2012. She is healthy and weighed in at 6.1lbs but Amanda has been in a critical condition for the past three days,” said Alison Griffin, spokeswoman for Amanda Holden and Chris Hughes.
Amanda and her husband Chris Huges tragically lost a son early in 2011. Friend and BGT boss Simon Cowell said, “We’ve had a chat and fingers crossed all is fine at the moment. There is no point taking risks”, according to the Mirror.
Mum-of-one Amanda Holden, 40, announced in August 2011 that she was expecting another baby girl. The gushing star revealed she was overwhelmed by the news she was expecting another daughter, and it didn’t take long for rumours to start that she was actually further along than she let on.
Amanda’s kept us on the edge of seats throughout the pregnancy, with a scary car crash and then a cheeky tweet that she had a new addition…which turned out to be a puppy.
Being a huge Twitter fan, Amanda’s been keeping us well and truly up to date with the goings on of her pregnancy. She even admitted to a fan that she would go into labour before Feb.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge has also been fighting off nasty rumours about problems with her pregnancy and recently defended her decision to wear heels. She’s also had to battle with a rather unflattering nickname from her hubby, although we’re sure he didn’t mean it really… On the plus side, Amanda seems to be managing to keep Simon Cowell in check – joking she’ll make him her baby’s godfather to keep her BGT role.
Congrats and we’re wishing Amanda a swift return to full health!
