Amir and Faryal's relationship

Faryal was living in her native Staten Island, New York, when a mutual friend introduced her to British boxing champion Amir. The pair reportedly met at a party in NY in 2012.

They married in 2013, in front of 300 guests, at the Waldorf Astoria Hostel in New York City. They later had a large celebration in Amir's hometown of Bolton, reports say.

Faryal's 1st pregnancy

Faryal's pregnancy was announced in early 2014.

Lamaisah's birth

On 24 May 2014, Faryal gave birth to a daughter.

Originally, Lamaisah's name was spelled in 2 different ways: Lamysa and Lamysah.

The couple wrote on Twitter that family and friends were struggling to pronounce the name, and eventually settled on Lamaisah.

Amir and Faryal's marriage troubles

In August 2017, the relationship between Amir and Faryal appeared to have come to an end, with Amir tweeting:

“So me and the wife Faryal have agreed to split. I’m currently in Dubai. Wish her all the best.”

He later accused her of cheating with fellow boxing champion Anthony Joshua, a claim which both parties strenuously denied. Faryal then said their Twitter accounts had been hacked.

Amir later took to Snapchat to prove that was not the case - and confirmed the couple's split.

Previously, the couple hit headlines over disagreements between Faryal and her in-laws, Amir's parents Falah and Shah Khan.
