Stumbling around the kitchen in the early hours of the morning warming milk up is set to be a thing of the past thanks to a new style of baby bottle from Yoomi. This self-heating bottle ensures milk is heated to between 32 and 34 degrees in just 60 seconds – all you need to do is press a button.

The baby bottle was invented by husband and wife duo Farah and Jim Shaikh, after a sketch on a pub napkin. Already an innovation and research award winner, the nifty gadget is now available to buy (as a bottle with the warmer) in the UK exclusively at John Lewis but for a hefty price tag of £22.

The gadget comes with a sealed warmer unit that sits inside the bottle and beneath the teat. A press of the button on the side of the unit triggers heating of the milk within the warmer for 30 seconds. You then tip the bottle upwards, leave for a further 30 seconds, so the cold milk makes it way through the heated funnel, giving you milk at the right temperature for your baby.

The Yoomi bottle can be recharged up to 100 times and also features an anti-colic teat. “The bottle can be recharged after use by immersion in boiling water or a steam steriliser,” Dr.Shaikh explains.
