In his first public appearance since leaving the hospital with Kate and baby George, Prince William played polo at Ascot this weekend.
“It’s good to get away for the afternoon,” he told crowds watching the charity match at Coworth Park.
It is thought that William and Kate have been staying at her parent’s house in Bucklebury, Berkshire since baby George was born.
At the match, William scored the winning goal for his team and was presented with a mini polo stick for George. Before opening the gift he asked: “Is it nappies? I’ve got to pick some up on my way home.”
He told guests he couldn’t be back too late, and joked that he didn’t play as well as usual: “I was in baby-mode out there, thinking about nappies, I wasn’t really in the zone.”
He also shared some news about George, who was born on July 22. “He likes to move around a lot, he wriggles a lot, he keeps us on our toes.”
William is on paternity leave from the RAF and is due to return to work this week.
