Sharing a picture of herself breastfeeding on Instagram, Bruce Willis’s wife Emma Heming-Willis is careful not to show any nipple.

If she had, then the picture sharing social media site may have blocked the image under its nudity clause.

“Breakfast of Champions. Photo cred: B. Willis,” she comments on her Instagram page.

Meanwhile, her 22-year-old stepdaughter, Scout Willis, tweeted pictures of herself strolling around New York topless to highlight her disagreement with Instagram’s policy against female nudity.

“What ‪@instagram won't let you see ‪#FreeTheNipple,” she tweeted.

The Instagram Terms of Use say: “You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service.”

This can mean that users who post pictures of themselves topless – including when breastfeeding – can be banned from the site. The same issues around banning breastfeeding photos happen on Facebook - as we highlighted as far back as 2012.

What do you think of the policy? Should women be allowed to post pictures of themselves breastfeeding if they want to? Comments please!
